We are excited to announce that Malaysia will be hosting this year\u2019s Asian British Parliamentary (ABP) Debating Championship, one of the most prestigious debating tournaments in Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this year, Malaysia successfully won the bid to host the championship, showcasing the nation\u2019s strong debating culture and commitment to fostering intellectual exchange. The event will be held at IIUM Kuantan from 10\u201318 September 2025, bringing together debaters, adjudicators, and academics from across the continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About ABP<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Asian British Parliamentary (ABP) Debating Championship is an annual tournament that gathers top university debaters from Asia. It follows the British Parliamentary format \u2014 one of the most dynamic and competitive styles of debate \u2014 where teams engage in rigorous argumentation, critical thinking, and persuasive communication. Since its establishment, ABP has become a platform not only for academic excellence, but also for cultural exchange and regional networking among students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our team at IWON, together with the organizing committee, has been working tirelessly to ensure a smooth and memorable tournament experience. Preparations are in full swing \u2014 from designing promotional materials and handling finances to coordinating logistics and building an engaging program for participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
