Master of Laws (LLM) | in Administration of Islamic Law
This programme is designed to produce professionals who are qualified in Shariah law to serve the judicial and legal services in the Muslim world. Students will be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills that enable them to become experts in handling the various aspects of the administration of Islamic Law with the ability to critically view their attendant problems from both the conventional and Islamic perspectives. Discussions on the current developments in the field of administration of Islamic Law form the prominent feature of this programme.
Programme Requirements: a) 4 Core Courses b) 6 Elective Courses
The courses are taught in a tri semester-based academic calendar with 3 trimesters of 12 teaching weeks per academic year.

Duration Study
Part Time : 1 year 8 months (5 semester) + Except for LLM. IL – 2 years (6 semester)
Full time : 1 year ( 3 semester)
Intake:
September, January, May (application is open throughout the year)
Entry Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in the field of related fields with minimum CGPA of 2.50 or equivalent; or
CGPA of 2.00 can be support with relevant working experience in the fields; or
Fulfill the necessary requirements and have obtained a certificate of APEL issued by the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA)
Proficiency in English language evidence by one of the following:
Band 6.5 on IIUM’s English Placement Test;
Or
Band 6.0 IELTS; or
Score of 550 on TOEFL (Paper-based), 213 (Computer-based),
or 79 (Internet-based)
