Master of Laws (LLM) | in Islamic Banking and Finance
This programme is designed to provide participants with in-depth knowledge of laws on Islamic banking and finance in response to the increasing demand for capable specialists in this field, which is growing globally by about 20% growth rate per year. It is estimated that at least 60,000 professionals are needed within the industry over the next 7 years. This course, therefore, provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of Islamic Banking and Finance Law, both at the conceptual and operational levels, augmented by the analyses of actual practices from Malaysian and the global perspectives.
Programme Requirements: a) 4 Core Courses b) 6 Elective Courses
The courses are taught in a tri semester-based academic calendar with 3 trimesters of per academic year.
Each semester consist of 
12 teaching weeks in 1 semester.

Duration Study
  • Part  Time : 1 year 8 months (5 semester)
  • Full time : 1 year ( 3 semester)
Intake:
  September, January, May (application is open throughout the year)
Entry Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree in the field of related fields with minimum CGPA of 2.50 or equivalent; or
  • CGPA of 2.00 can be support with relevant working experience in the fields; or
  • Fulfill the necessary requirements and have obtained a certificate of APEL issued by the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA)
  • Proficiency in English language evidence by one of the following:
      Band 6.5 on IIUM’s English Placement Test;
      Or 
      Band 6.0 IELTS; or
      Score of 550 on TOEFL (Paper-based), 213 (Computer-based),          
      or 79 (Internet-based)
