CPD WEBINAR: FLIPPED LEARNING: DESIGNING ONLINE AND HYBRID LESSONS TO FOSTER SELF-DIRECTED LEARNING

The Centre for Professional Development (CPD)  would like to invite all IIUM academic staff to enroll in this training, which will be held as follows:

Topic: Flipped Learning: Designing Online and Hybrid Lessons to Foster Self-Directed Learning
Speaker: Asst. Prof. Dr. Siti Fatimah Abd.  Rahman, Department of Language and Literacy, Kulliyyah of Education (KOED)
Competency Level: Advanced
Date: 18th September 2026 (Friday)
Time: 9.00 am – 11.00 am

Programme Outcomes:
1.  Describe the key principles and components of flipped learning, differentiating it from traditional and fully online teaching approaches.
2.  Design a basic online or hybrid flipped learning lesson incorporating pre-class materials and in-class active learning tasks.
3.  Assess strategies for enhancing learner engagement, autonomy, and self-directed learning within their own teaching context.

Participants who are successfully selected will receive a confirmation email after the registration closing date.

CTD points will be awarded to participants who:
1. Complete the i-Attend record
2. Are recorded in Zoom attendance for the required duration
3. Submit the evaluation form within 24 hours
