GOMBAK, April 21 – The IIUM Leadership Centre (ILC) successfully conducted the Professor–Fellow Lecture Series No. 5/2026, featuring the distinguished political scientist and historian, Professor Dr. Farish A. Noor. The programme was held at the Senate Hall, Muhammad Abdul Rauf Building, IIUM Gombak Campus.

This initiative was organised by the ILC as the lead organiser, in collaboration with the Office of the Rector and the Office for Communication, Advocacy and Promotion (OCAP). The series continues to serve as a platform for university leaders to engage with global ideas, foster interdisciplinary dialogue, and provide mentorship through intellectual thought.

The fifth session for 2026 was titled “Mapping and Power: A Postcolonial Critique of Political Geography” and moderated by the Rector of IIUM, Professor Emeritus Datuk Dr. Osman Bakar.

The Professor–Fellow Lecture Series provides university leaders with valuable insights into contemporary leadership challenges and governance within a dynamic world. The successful execution of this session reflects the ongoing commitment of the ILC, the Office of the Rector, and OCAP to strengthening academic leadership and achieving Ummatic Excellence.
