GOMBAK, April 16 – The IIUM Leadership Centre (ILC) successfully conducted the second instalment of the Leadership Acceleration Programme Series 2/2026 at the Alumni Lounge. Following the successful completion of the first series on human resources, this session pivoted to the critical domain of Financial Matters.
The programme continues to target administrative and technical officers in acting positions (Grade 12 and 13), providing them with the high-level financial competencies required for senior leadership. This initiative is central to the University’s strategy of fostering a sustainable internal talent pipeline and ensuring that future leaders are well-versed in the complexities of institutional finance.
The second series featured topics / modules led by the following officers from the Finance Division:
- IIUM New Financial Sustainability Model (NFSM) 2025 and Governance Issues: Mr. Mohamad Nasir bin Kama (Director, Finance Division)
- Procurement and Contractual Matters: Mr. Muhammad Saifurrijal bin Zaini (Senior Deputy Finance Director)
- Treasury and Trust Account: Mr. Muhd Izzuan bin Mohd Noor (Senior Deputy Finance Director)
- Budget and Financial Planning: Mdm. Siti Hawa Latip (Director, Budget & Financial Planning Department)
- Asset Management: Mr. Anizam bin Ali (Senior Deputy Director, Asset Management Department)
In line with the programme’s rigorous standards, participants completed pre and post-tests to evaluate their immediate grasp of the financial modules.
As this is the second of a three-part series, participants were reminded that a comprehensive test will be conducted following the completion of the third and final series. This cumulative assessment will serve as a definitive measure of competency enhancement and remains a key requirement for the University’s performance evaluation regarding the confirmation of promotion.
The successful execution of this second series further solidifies the ILC’s mission to produce well-rounded, financially literate leaders capable of driving organisational excellence and ensuring the University’s long-term sustainability.
