The main aim is to assist the fellow researchers in the CIE in their works of activities while at the same time to captivate the interest of the young future researchers among the students and giving them the exposure in activities related to research on Islamisation of modern economics. While many of the past of CIE’s programmes have been organised consisting only of the participants among the lecturers and the CIE fellows, the establishment of FoCIE will invite wider participations among the group of students especially those who are keen to join with the mission and vision of CIE. At the same time, the organisation can set up itsr own beneficial activities that will spread the movement of Islamisation of modern Economics following the mission and vision of CIE among the students.

The discussion on the establishment of FoCIE started in 2008 between the Director of CIE, Prof Dr. Mohamed Aslam Haneef with his fellow researchers including Dr Mustafa Omar Mohamed. However, only in 2019 that the proper organization was established and students’ participation became more visible through the help of Br. Wan Omar Fadhli as its first unofficial president. However, the committee line up that is organized is only under voluntary basis where any further commitments are not being given. Three years later starting in November 2022, the team took a more serious step by setting up a proper committee line up throughout interviews and selection. This is to ensure the high level of credibility of the team as well as the high commitment that can be contributed towards the organization. Being inspired with the spirit of Islamisation of Economics that is propagated by CIE, the FoCIE team is committed to assist the programs held by CIE, KENMS and widen the coverage of the programmes to include undergraduate and postgraduate students.
