ISLAMIC ECONOMICS TRAINING CAMP 2025

OVERVIEW

The Islamic Economics Training Camp 2025 (IETC 2025), held from 6–10 August at IIUM and Coral Bay Resort, Pangkor, was a seasonal event that this year took place in Malaysia. Organized by the Centre of Islamic Economics (CIE) in collaboration with Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah (USAS), the camp successfully gathered young scholars from various countries to deepen their knowledge and research skills in Islamic economics. The program featured engaging lectures, discussions, institutional visits, and practical sessions that enhanced participants’ understanding of both foundational and contemporary issues in the field. It not only strengthened academic and professional competencies such as articulation and presentation skills but also fostered meaningful networking and collaboration among participants, making it a fruitful platform for nurturing future leaders in Islamic economics and finance

EDUCATIONAL VISIT

BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA

The educational visit to Bank Negara Malaysia provided participants with valuable insights into the nation’s central banking system and its pivotal role in maintaining financial stability. Through an informative presentation and interactive session, attendees gained a deeper understanding of monetary policy, regulatory frameworks, and the importance of Islamic finance within Malaysia’s economy. The visit enriched participants’ academic knowledge with practical exposure, fostering a stronger appreciation of the central bank’s contributions to national and global financial systems.

BURSA MALAYSIA

The visit to Bursa Malaysia offered participants an excellent opportunity to explore the workings of one of the region’s leading stock exchanges. The session highlighted the significance of Bursa Suq Al-Sila’ as a platform for Islamic finance and commodity trading, demonstrating how innovation and Shariah principles can complement one another in financial markets. Participants benefited greatly from the practical knowledge shared, gaining clearer perspectives on market operations and the role of Bursa Malaysia in supporting economic growth and financial development.
