GOMBAK, February 25 – The IIUM Leadership Centre (ILC) successfully led the inaugural session of the Professor–Fellow Lecture Series No. 1/2026, featuring prominent scholar Prof. Dr. Jasser Auda. The programme was held at the Senate Hall, Muhammad Abdul Rauf Building, IIUM Gombak Campus.

The series is a leadership development initiative organised by the ILC in collaboration with the Office of the Rector and the Office for Communication, Advocacy and Promotion (OCAP). It is designed to provide university leaders with valuable insights into contemporary leadership challenges, governance, and intellectual thought while fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and mentorship.

The session focused on the topic “The Ummatic Significance of the Maqasid Project” and was moderated by the Rector of IIUM, Professor Emeritus Datuk Dr. Osman Bakar.

This lecture series serves as a strategic platform for university leaders to engage with global ideas and broaden their perspectives within a dynamic and interconnected world. The successful execution of the programme underscores the commitment of the ILC, the Office of the Rector, and OCAP to strengthening leadership and academic governance towards achieving organisational and Ummatic Excellence.
