In order to organize the University’s many activities, particularly those related to the Islamisation of Human Knowledge (IOHK), the IIUM Centre for Islamisation (CENTRIS) was founded in May 2012. To support the Centre’s purpose of Islamisation, the roles of coordinator and committee of the Islamisation of Human Knowledge were subsequently formed.
At Centre for Foundation Studies, the Islamisation of Human Knowledge unit is responsible to coordinate the Islamisation planned initiatives and oversee the performance of Islamisation of Human Knowledge academic committee and Spiritual Development Department.
The roles and responsibilities of the Islamisation of Human Knowledge unit at Centre for Foundation Studies can be summarised into three separate areas:
STRATEGIC PLANNING
- Think tank for CFS regarding Islamisation matters.
- Secretariat for Islamisation Key Result Area of CFS Strategic Plan.
- Collaborate with various parties within and outside IIUM/CFS to enhance its Islamisation mission.
ISLAMISATION MISSIONS
- Conduct training and retraining programmes regarding Islamisation for the identified target groups.
- Undertake research projects and publish/disseminate materials pertaining to Islamisation.
- Provide consultancy on Islamisation.
- Coordinate Islamisation activities in CFS.
MOSQUE MANAGEMENT
- Provide and oversee religious programmes as the centre of tarbiyah ruhiyah for CFS.
- Provide good services as a centre for ibadah, community services and reference.
