Strategic and Governance Department (SGD)

The Strategy and Governance Department (SGD) at the Centre for Foundation Studies, International Islamic University Malaysia (CFS IIUM) serves as the backbone of institutional planning, governance, and quality management.

The department is entrusted with ensuring that CFS’s operations, initiatives, and performance remain aligned with IIUM’s Vision and Mission. It promotes a culture of strategic thinking, accountability, and continuous improvement across all administrative and academic functions.

SGD plays a central role in coordinating the Centre’s strategic plan implementation, monitoring institutional performance, and ensuring compliance with governance and quality standards, including ISO 9001:2015, for which CFS IIUM is certified by SIRIM. In line with CFS’s commitment to integrity and transparency, the department also supports the implementation of the Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) ISO 37001:2016, adopted by the Centre in 2021 to strengthen ethical and accountable practices.

Through its commitment to transparency, efficiency, and strategic foresight, the Strategy and Governance Department contributes to CFS’s aspiration to be a well-managed and forward-looking centre that nurtures excellence in line with IIUM’s philosophy and values.

The Strategy and Governance Department (SGD) supports the Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS IIUM) in strengthening governance and institutional excellence through:

• Strategic Planning & Monitoring – aligning CFS initiatives with IIUM’s Vision and Mission.
• Secretariat Support – coordinating official CFS meetings and documentation.
• Quality Management – maintaining ISO 9001:2015 certification and audit records.
• Governance & Risk Management – promoting transparency, accountability, and compliance.

ISO & ABMS Commitment

CFS IIUM upholds integrity, transparency, and quality in all its operations. The Centre is certified under ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System by SIRIM and has adopted the Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) ISO 37001:2016 to strengthen good governance and accountability practices.
