International Workshop on Teaching Wealth Management from Islamic Perspective: Insights from Southeast Asian Universities

The Centre for Islamic Economics (CIE), in collaboration with the Department of Finance, successfully co‑organised the International Workshop on Teaching Wealth Management from Islamic Perspective: Insights from Southeast Asian Universities on 15–16 June 2026. The event was held together with Universitas Ibn Khaldun Bogor, I‑FIFEE, and several Southeast Asian universities.
The workshop featured keynote sessions, panel discussions, and curriculum presentations involving scholars from Malaysia, Indonesia, and Brunei. Discussions focused on curriculum models, pedagogical innovation, sustainability, and industry integration in Islamic wealth management education. The programme provided a platform for sharing best practices and exploring new approaches to teaching wealth management through Islamic principles.
The two‑day event concluded successfully, contributing to the strengthening of IIUM’s curriculum development efforts and fostering regional academic collaboration in Islamic economics and finance. It also served as a meaningful platform for interdisciplinary engagement and capacity building among participating institutions, reinforcing IIUM’s role as a hub for Islamic economic education in Southeast Asia.
