About Us

Department of English Language (ELD) The English Language Department operates under the Centre for Languages and Pre-University Academic Development (CELPAD) and is strategically stationed at the Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) as one of its dedicated branches. It serves as a vital preparatory platform, providing the fundamental linguistic skills required for students entering various kulliyyat. The Department comprises 36 academic staff members who collectively contribute to the mission of ensuring students are well-equipped for the demands of higher education. The Department is committed to nurturing students as holistic individuals who recognise their role as khalifah (vicegerents) of Allah S.W.T. Guided by the principle that the ability to communicate and seek knowledge is an amanah (trust) from Allah S.W.T., the Department strives to develop engaging educational initiatives that integrate academic excellence with moral and spiritual consciousness. The language courses offered adopt an integrated, blended learning approach that offers authentic and relevant content, incorporating communicative and critical thinking activities. These initiatives aim not only to enhance intellectual capacity but also to foster personal growth in line with Islamic values, encouraging students to utilise their linguistic skills to benefit the ummah. In fulfilling its amanah, the Department monitors student progress and provides guidance through consultations. Students are encouraged to persevere in their academic journey with sincerity (ikhlas), resilience (sabr), and gratitude (shukr), recognising that all success ultimately comes from Allah S.W.T.
