Sejahtera Centre for Sustainability and Humanity was established to champion the sustainability, humanity and Sejahtera agenda of International Islamic University Malaysia.
Our five(5) main functions are :
MAIN FUNCTIONS
EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
The ESD Unit at IIUM integrates Maqasid Syariah with sustainable development, offering courses like SCSH 1201, SCSH 2163, and SCSH 3164, while focusing on collaboration, education, and community engagement.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND YOUTH EMPOWERMENT
IIUM’s Community Engagement and Youth Empowerment (CE), under the Sejahtera Centre and aligned with the Communiversity concept, serves as a platform for staff and students to volunteer and plan activities benefiting thousands, including school students, orphans, villagers, and the Orang Asli.
SUSTAINABLE CAMPUS
IIUM’s Go-Green Committee focuses on sustainability through initiatives in Energy & Water, Waste, Built Environment, Landscape & Biodiversity, Green IT, Green Transportation, Recycling, ESD, Responsible Research, Green Reporting, Capacity Building, Green Finance, and Green Youth.
SEJAHTERA NEIGHBOURHOOD
Sejahtera Neighbourhood promotes social sustainability in the Greater Gombak region, leading Whole Community Transformation through partnerships and collaborations locally and globally.
